Our History

The company was founded in the 1940´s by Gunnar Fröjel in Stockholm Sweden. He was a cellist that had difficulties finding good strings during the second world war and therefore started to make his own strings. He started to sell them to his colleagues in Swedish orchestras and the company was formed.

The first strings were made in his kitchen with help of his wife that assisted as a motor but the company was sooned moved to another location in Stockholm and the company growed.

A patent that changed the business of strings was early taken world wide.

In 1981 Gunnar´s son Urban Fröjel took over the company and he industrialised the company further during the years to come and introduced new strings. The company also changed location again in 1994. In 2015 the company moved to its third generation of owners with Niclas and Jessica Fröjel, Urbans children. Niclas is now running the company and will keep on working with the next generation of strings for the coming years.
